Who wrote the above article on AFib (east meets west)?
I have text book vagal AFib and only have it laying down.
Has anyone out there researched the physiological aspect of "vagal AFib"? Common in athletes (enlarged heart), lying on left side or back? Could something be constricting space in the chest for the heart and be as simple as opening up the chest with a balance ball, acupuncture, etc.?
I have not found anyone out in the medical field that distinguishes between different types of AFib.
Interesting puzzle but seems we all are a little different but have to be our own best advocate.
Peace

My afib is triggered by alcohol, stress and dehydration.I was on a beta blocker for a fib and high blood pressure. The beta blocker lost if affectiveness over time so I weened myself off it.I started to take 100mg of COQ10 and my bp came down after four weeks. My sister who is an accupuncturist told me that my Afib is caused by rising heat,as the article points out in the Chinese medicine approach.I try to avoid heat inducing foods like grilled meat and alcohol both of which I love. Also eating white carbs late at night makes my heart race.But,COQ10 has slowed my pulse generally and brought my bp down to normal

I found your website here very informative and beneficial, as I to have AFib and have had it for 7 years now. I live in the Pacific NW. and the doc said that she has seen more and more people my age ( 40ish :-) ) developing this problem due to the fact that we up here don't get a lot of sun light.

My AFib came after many tachycardia episodes. I've noticed that the older I get the more frequent the episodes accrue. Cold drinks and food additives seem to set it in motion. I keep Atenolol on hand and only take it when I have an episode. I stopped taking it because it made me very tired and I noticed my speech was being affected. Anyone have that problem with this med?

I've started Juicing veggies and fruits and adding Green Magma Barley Grass and cayenne pepper to my drinks. And I'm trying to adopt a Raw Food Diet. ( that's a hard one lol ) but I'm getting there. The Cayenne Pepper is a good Blood Thinner. I would rather take a natural one then take drugs. Any how, if anyone has any more clever ideas to deal with this health problem I would LOVE to hear it. :-)

Many Thanks

Hello everyone.
By now you are probably all aware that I swear by magnesium for atrial fibrillation. I have not had an episode for almost a year now. I was talking to a friend this morning, who suffers quite severely from A-fib and she has discovered that she can return her heart to normal rhythm with a teaspoon of honey. You can't beat the natural medicines can you? It's worth a try and will not do you any harm. I did some research on the net and apparently honey is used in a number of treatments for A-fib. Give it a go and let me know if it works.

Good luck.
