Living with Atrial Fibrillation

We all come from different walks of life. Some of us are younger and some of us are seasoned citizens. Some of us are women and some of us are men. Some of us are super fit and healthy and some of us…well, we’re not so fit and healthy. But there is something we all have in common – we have atrial fibrillation and it sucks!

I had my first “official” afib episode on Father’s Day in 2006 when I was just 33 years old. Happy Father’s Day, right? When I was first diagnosed, I had never heard of atrial fibrillation before and I just figured it was one of those odd things that happens and I would never have to deal with it again. Boy was I wrong. Afib would become a constant dark cloud over my head as you’ll read about in my afib journey.

This website serves several purposes. One, it gives me an outlet to share my personal experiences with this crap (can you tell I’m just a little negative about afib). Two, it provides a recorded history of my experiences with atrial fibrillation that my kids and family might be interested in some day. Three, by maintaining this website it forces me to stay on top of the latest news and research on afib and it provides an outlet for others to share their experiences – which we can all learn from.

Ultimately, as the title of this website and tagline suggests, this is a website that I hope will help all of us living with atrial fibrillation find ways to manage it and hopefully cure it! I want this to be a website where everyone can share their thoughts and experiences with afib. The more people are involved, the more we’ll all get from it so if you have ANYTHING to share, please do so by leaving comments on any of the pages of this site or by contacting me directly.

I wanted to write on the topic of COVID-19, vaccines, and atrial fibrillation because I wanted to provide a place for you, the reader, to voice your thoughts, opinions, and experiences on the topic. Most websites these days don't allow you to leave comments, and those that do aren't particularly ... READ MORE
